About Me
Thanks for stopping by.
I'm an artist living and working on the edge
of the beautiful Peak District of North West England. The ever changing colours and luscious
textures of the surrounding landscape, gardens and parkland provide a wealth of inspiration for
my work.
I have always loved flowers; in fact it was a bed
of giant, multicoloured tulips that first alerted me to the beauty of colour at the tender age
of 18 months. Of course they were probably
just ordinary sized flowers but I was so tiny and they were almost at head
height! In my minds eye, that's how I still
remember them to this day .
I have a B.Ed. (Hons) Art & Design
and taught in Manchester schools before becoming a full time artist about 15 years ago. Since
then, I have sold my art widely; throughout the UK, Europe, America and even New Zealand. I
have participated in numerous exhibitions around the UK as well as one in France and
have won several awards. My first solo exhibition, "Four Seasons in the
Peak" was at Buxton Gallery & Museum. I'm currently working for my next solo early
next year.
My favourite media are watercolour,
pastels and collage. I'm a professional member of the International Oil Pastel Society and a
P.A. of the Society for All Artists. I'm also a member of Stockport Art
Guild.
